Mercato Centrale di Firenze and Quàlita, the projet aimed at small companies in the food sector, organize the MercaMercatino, four events, from September to December, to discover the excellence of the local flavor through the products, the stories, the processing methods and the passions of small producers, who with dedication, careful selection of raw materials and an ethical approach to the manufacturing process to create authentic products.
On the terraces of the Mercato Centrale it will be created an exhibition where you can discover, taste and buy wine, beer, oil, preserves and jams, honey, biscuits, vegetables from organic farming and more. All accompanied by talk shows and discussions held on the new trends of taste conducted by Leonardo Romanelli, wine critic and journalist, to be held with the assistance of experts, in close literary cafe.
It starts Sunday, September 27th with “Vegan, raw food, vegetarian food: not only fashion. How to eat healthy and in a varied following diets that exclude certain foods entirely” with Marina Barbieri, dietitian; Cristian Giorgi, vegan cook; Francesco Sofi, Clinic University of Florence. 17:00 at the Literary Cafe.
During the event some quality producers will offer tastings of their products: bruschetta with olive oil blend of cultivars of Monte Amiata, Etichetta Argento, company Poderina Toscana; Valdarno di Sopra Pratomagno Malvasia Bianca Doc 2014 Campo del Monte and taste of pastries signed Pasticceria Fiorentina.
From 10.00 to debut MercaMercatino many companies that will be present in the exhibition area. It starts with farm products of Fattoria di Corazzano, vegetables and seasonal fruit from organic farming, chickpeas and farro, delicious tomato pulp and IGT Tuscan red wine fermented in small open tanks so no added yeast, chemical additives or tannins, process that enhances the aromas and colors of grapes.
Do not miss a taste of organic extra virgin olive oil of the farm Angela Nannoni that to preserve the best qualities of the oil practice hand-picking of the olives and the pressing rigorously cold; and which has set up a line of cosmetic products based on olive oil.
Enthusiasts will find plenty of green gold (indeed oil) for their teeth, with La Poderina Toscana, organic farm renewable energy of Mount Amiata, who will accompany them to discover the award-winning selection of organic extra virgin olive oil: Etichetta Oro DOP ( fruity), Etichetta Argento(fruity) and Gocce di Montegiovi (light fruity). The company also produces organic wine: Marracone DOCG Montecucco, Sangiovese Bio, Bio Intregona IGT Toscana, IGT Toscana Bio Primo Passo.
Even wines from organic cultivation of Podere Ghisone, farm Montespertoli, are able to delight the palate of the most demanding wine Chianti DOCG, IGT Toscano and Petalo, a great rosé IGT Toscana Sangiovese 100%.
The journey into the nectar of Bacchus continues to the stand of the farm Campo del Monte, which has a huge selection of labels of fine wines from Chianti DOCG to Baltea VdS Pratomagno Chardonnay DOC, from Campo del Monte VdS Pratomagno Malvasia DOC, the RODOS Rosso di Toscana IGT, to get to the Vin Santo CONIO.
For the sweet tooth must see at the booth of Pasticceria Fiorentina, historic bakery of Montespertoli using flour obtained from the cultivation of ancient grains and presents a selection of delicious pastries handcrafted, leavened by the biscuits.
There will also Panificio Vannini e Dolce Emporio, a must in the world of confectionery. The historic Florentine shop will delight the palate of children and adults with Biscotti delle Nonne di San Frediano, three cookies for three different grandmothers: Biscotti di Nonna Rina with extra virgin olive oil IGP Tuscan Vin Santo, raisins and pine nuts; Biscotti di Nonna Ada with dark chocolate and Biscotti di Nonna Bice with extra-virgin olive oil Tuscan IGP, dark chocolate and hazelnuts.
The farm Biological La Bandita from Trequanda offers a rich selection of jams and jellies, as well as a Rosso Toscana IGT and a fine extra virgin olive oil with a very low presence of oleic acid and peroxides that allow the oil to maintain the persistence of its aromatic qualities and taste over time.
Could not miss the craft beer with La Mi’Birra designed and developed with a toscanismo recalling the origin of its creator Claudia, but also the aspiration to bring in Tuscany the entire production chain: from the cultivation of cereals bottling . The try La mi’ Bionda, La mi’ Ambra, La mi’ Rossa, La mi’ Turba, La mi’ Vizia.
